Asbestos Inspections & Testing

According to federal EPA and Colorado state law, it is mandated that all suspect asbestos containing building material such as ceiling and wall texture, joint compound, drywall, vinyl flooring (linoleum, sheet, or tile), mastic (glue), insulation, ceiling tiles, and many other building materials must be tested prior to any renovation, remodel, or disturbance of such material.

You can trust Prokop Environmental to keep you safe and within compliance of local, state, and federal regulations.

How it Works

Our certified asbestos building inspectors will inspect your property. Collect samples of the suspected asbestos containing material based on the scope of work. We then take the samples to a National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) certified laboratory to be analyzed for asbestos.  It can takes as little as two hours to find out if you have asbestos containing materials.

Reporting and what to do next

Once the results are received from the laboratory, we will immediately contact you and let you know if your property has Asbestos Containing Building Materials (ACBM). We will then prepare a certified regulatory compliant report for you records. Feel free to ask us any questions regarding your report, results, or how to safely proceed with your project. We are here for you as a resource to help guide you through the complex regulations surrounding asbestos here in Colorado.

Mold Inspections & Testing

Water leaks or other causes of moisture intrusion can cause major problems in your home or commercial building. Mold is a known allergen and can cause health problems for those in proximity to affected areas.

How it Works

At Prokop Environmental, we conduct a thorough investigation into the cause, identify the type of mold genus, and if needed recommend remediation strategies to effectively tackle the problem. We use thermal imaging cameras and moisture meters to look for elevated areas of moisture in addition to sampling affected areas with swabs, tape lifts, and air samples. We will accurately track the cause of the mold.

All samples collect are analyzed by a certified laboratory. The lab results will show concentrations levels of each spore type identified. Prokop Environmental will be able to suggest the best remediation plan for your project.

Result

You’ll get a report backed by Prokop Environmental and recommendations on how to solve any mold or mildew problems. In addition, although we have no affiliation with any contractors we can recommend remediation contractors that we have experience with and feel comfortable recommending based on the work we’ve seen them perform.

Asbestos Air Monitoring

After the abatement of Asbestos Containing Building Materials (ACBM) is complete. Colorado State law requires a final air monitoring clearance testing to occur ensure there are no residual asbestos fibers in the air prior to containment deconstruction.

How it Works

After all removal/renovation work is completed and area is cleaned. we come in with air monitoring equipment to run air samples that trap any residual asbestos fibers in a small filter cartridge which is then submitted to a National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) Certified Laboratory. The lab will determine whether there are fibers present and at what concentrations.

Outcomes

Once we receive the results from the laboratory, we will be able to certify whether an area is clean and determine whether asbestos concentrations are within regulatory requirements. All results will be put into a formal regulatory compliant report for your records and for the state.
